Other Trials

In addition to our type 1 diabetes research, we are also currently conducting studies to improve the diagnosis of Sjögren’s syndrome.

Sjögren’s Syndrome Fast Diagnosis Project
The Faustman Lab’s Sjögren’s Syndrome Fast Diagnosis Project is being conducted to improve the methods for diagnosing Sjögren’s syndrome.

Today, it is difficult to accurately and quickly diagnose Sjögren’s syndrome. Sjögren’s syndrome symptoms are often confused for symptoms of other conditions, and patients can spend years going from one specialist to the next before they get the correct diagnosis. In addition, if the diagnosis involves a lip biopsy, it can be invasive and, at times, inconclusive.

The Faustman Lab is developing a simple blood test to quickly and accurately diagnose Sjögren’s syndrome. If you are interested in participating in this research study, please see our flyer and contact us by phone at 617-726-4084 or by email at autoimmunity@partners.org. You can also begin by filling out the patient registration form] and faxing, emailing, or mailing it back to us, and we would be happy to set up an appointment for you to contribute a blood sample at our facility in Boston. All testing is free.
